Pre WWE Career (1984-1990)
The Undertaker made his wrestling debut in 1984 in the Dallas, Texas based World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW) under the ring name "Texas Red".
He made his first Pro-Wrestling career in the 1989, when he joined CWA. On April 1, 1989, he wrestled Jerry "The King" Lawler, under the ring name "The Master of Pain", and defeated him for the USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championship.
After this the Undertaker, joined the WCW, and his greatest rivalry was against Lex Luger. He faced Lex Luger for the NWA United States Championship at The Great American Bash. He eventually lost to Luger and lost his renewal contract to WCW after his lose to Sting.
This lose was blessing in disguise as it paved his way to a legendary career in the WWE.
WWE Career (1990-present)
The Undertaker made his debut in WWE as Kane The Undertaker; ironically this name 'Kane' was going to one hell of a problem for him in the future. The name was later changed from Kane The Undertaker to Just The Undertaker. He was brought to the people by the 'Million Dollar Man' Ted DiBiase, when during the 1990 Survivor Series, the undertaker was the member of the team led by Ted DiBiase. After a successful debut, The Undertaker made his first Wrestlemania debut against "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, where he picked up his first Wrestlemania win, and he never looked back.
He defeated many great opponents like the Ultimate Warrior, Randy Savage, Hitman Hart. Then eventually in the next edition of Survivor Series, he defeated Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship.
After this win, The Undertaker was managed by Paul Bearer. The gimmick was shown that Paul Bearer carried a golden urn, which contained the soul of the Undertaker. This type of gimmick really attracted the people, thinking of the Undertaker as a real Dead Man Walking.
After this he had many feuds with the likes of Kamala, Giant Gonzales, but the most famous was his dispute with Yokuzuna. Managed by Master Fuji, Yokozuna became a fresh champion, but was challenged by The Undertaker, in a match of one of a kind-the Casket Match, in which the player was defeated by putting him into the casket and closing the lid. Yokozuna defeated The Undertaker but the spirit of Undertaker was shown on the video screen, just like a movie, creating instant sensation.
Arrival of Brother Kane
The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels were involved in a Hell in a Cell match at Bad Blood 1996, when Paul Bearer brought Kane, the brother of Undertaker, whom Paul Bearer claimed was burned because of the Undertaker. Kane invaded the cell and gave Tombstone Piledriver to the Undertaker, making a huge statement in the career of the Undertaker, forcing him to take him on at Wrestlemania XIV and defeated him.
After this the Undertaker character became an evil one, where he formed Ministry of Darkness, where he tried to marry Stephanie McMahon, daughter of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, only to be saved by Ken Shamrock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. This led to a buried a live match between Stone Cold and The Undertaker, which Austin won by burying the Undertaker alive. It was one of the most important matches in WWE as WWE was fighting the position for ratings with WCW, and these types of sequences really helped in promoting WWF brand.
The Biker Undertaker "American bad Ass"
After the merger of WWE and WCW, a lot of superstars came to WWE and two brands SmackDown and RAW were flooded with talent. It was the time to adapt to shapes and faces. One such face was adapted by the Undertaker, where he portrayed himself as a Biker, and the whole ghost image of Undertaker was dissolved. The Undertaker started to come to the ring on cruiser bikes, which it itself portrayed a Bad Ass look.
However this new face ended when during a buried alive match with Vince McMahon, when Kane interfered in the match and buried alive The Undertaker. This marked the return of the original "Dead Man" and The Undertaker along with Paul Bearer defeated Kane at WrestleMania XX.
After this, The Undertaker had some Great fights with The Great Khali and Batista, when The Undertaker was beaten by Batista on two occasions.
His current match is scheduled with Edge, whom he had several rivalries for the World heavyweight Championship, and is a Hell in a Cell Match at SummerSlam 2008.
