Pre WWE Career (1999-2005) James started her wrestling career in the independent circuit for KYDA Pro Wrestling. She trained to improve her wrestling abilities by attending training at Funking Conservatory and Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). She also worked in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. She joined the Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) in 2004, where she feuded with Beth Phoenix, Martinez and Jillian Hall. WWE Career (2005-present)  James debuted in WWE in RAW episode and was made an onscreen feud with Trish Stratus, pretending to be her greatest Fan. She also pretended to be psychologically obsessed with Trish Stratus and attempted to kiss her. They finally met for the women’s title at Wrestemania 22, where she won her first Women’s Title. Then she feuded with Lita and lost her title to her. She finally defeated Lita in Lita’s final match to become Women’s Champion again. In 2007, she lost the title to Melina. She again won the title from Melina but for a short period of time. The same night she lost the title back to Melina. In 2008, she feuded with Beth Phoenix and defeated her to regain the title for the fourth time. She eventually lost the title to Beth again.
