Pre WWE Career (1984�1988)
Michaels started his wrestling career with Texas All-Star Wrestling (TAW) in 1984. Then he joined AWA (American Wrestling Association with Marty Jannetty.WWE Career(1988-Present)
The pair of Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty, "The Rockers" debuted at WWF in 1988. In 1991, the group broke up, and Michaels became a villain as "the Boy Toy".He came to known as "Heartbreak Kid". During this period, his manager was Sensational Sherri. In 1992, he won his first championship, WWF Intercontinental Championship from British Bulldog. He then broke up with Sensational Sherri. He then formed a group along with Diesel.
In 1993, he was fired from the company for the use of steroids. In 1994 he returned and won the Royal Rumble, and feuded with Diesel. He then joined forces with Sycho Sid.
In 1995, Michaels returned and won the Intercontinental Championship from Razor Ramon. In 1996, Michaels again won the Royal Rumble and became champion by beating Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 12. In 1997, Michaels won the WWF European championship from British Bulldog. Then he formed the Group DX along with Triple H, and defeated Bret Hart at the "Montreal Screwjob", Surviour Series event. This resulted in the departure of Bret Hart to WCW. In 1998, he lost the championship to Stone Cold Steve Austin, and retired due the herniated two discs.
During 1998-2002, Shawn served as WWF commissioner at WWF. In 2002, Shawn returned to wrestling, as a member of NWO with Kevin Nash. Then he feuded with Triple H, and became the World heavy weight champion, by winning the Elimination chamber match. He then feuded with Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 19 and was also in the main event at Wrestlemania 20. in 2005 he feuded with Kurt Angle. In 2006 he reunited with Triple H to form DX and continued in 2007.
In 2008 he again feuded with Chris Jericho, in which he injured his left eye.
